Review on Grandstream GXP1615 Business HD IP Phone - Small to Medium Sized VoIP Phone and Device by Jun Bak ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the price and quality are acceptable.

For such a small price (if you find a good supplier, you can bring down the price by 30% of the recommended one), out of more than 300 devices, only 4 died over time - 3 burned out the network chip, one stopped working hook switch (this is a button that works when lifting / resetting tubes) - in general, a good percentage, our supplier changed all the devices to new ones without question. To switch from analog to IP telephony, the most optimal option in terms of budget / functionality / quality

Pros
  • - Wide functionality and value for money - Excellent sound quality if you understand what VOIP and QoS are, as well as how all this should work through NAT - Durable body and tube - Scroll long titles on the screen - Manufacturer support - a bunch of tools for customization, management and configuration - Excellent web interface - Support for the 2022 language in the menu and web interface, good 2022, without Chinese :-)
Cons
  • - There is no display backlight - not critical, but backlit would be nicer - The menu interface on the phone itself is not smart - with active use it can become dull. This is expressed in a set of numbers with a delay of 3-4 seconds, hanging calls - you have already picked up the phone, but in reality the conversation will begin in the same 3-4 seconds. Looks like a lot of savings on CPU and RAM. It is treated by automatic reboot once a day. : support has released firmware 1.0.420222 which solves problems with brakes and freezes, so you can exclude this minus, ate and live in peace - There are no normal warranty services, you can only hand over the warranty to a good supplier who takes the warranty on himself. - ONLY 2 lines and 1 SIP account, if you have Call Waiting enabled on the PBX, then transferring the call with 2 busy lines will not work - disable Call Waiting on the PBX so that users do not complain that they cannot transfer the call - It takes a long time to reboot, about 5 minutes, if he decides to ate the firmware - forget about him for 15-20 minutes - In some games, there is a clumsy wire to the tube, which eventually turns into an infernal tangle, they have a smaller coil radius

Has some pros Inexpensive and fairly high-quality IP phone Easy to set up, easy to set up on FreePBX 2 connection channels. Some cons: The plastic is flimsy, but what can you expect from a phone in this price range. Difficult setup when working through VPN channels.
