They work, No: Hook for home storage

The price is great but the manufacturer should revise the design to make it deeper and stronger. I use it to hold 1" kayak prop shafts. The mounting screw protrudes enough to prevent the shaft from fully submerging in the clamp and is held securely. Also, the spring action is a bit weak. It can happen with heavy objects make sure these fall out of the clamp Make the clamp deeper so that the set screw does not interfere when the clamp fully grips the shaft.
