I could only play one of the five DVDs I made on this machine. Everything looked fine when recording from a connected camcorder, the picture appeared on the TV when scrolling through the DVD/VCR, the record light was on well, once the DVD was finished on Samsung it played well. But when I try to play on my Sony Vaio or Apple iMac, all I get is a still black screen. When I recorded onto DVD-RW from a videotape inserted into a VCR, I was able to play back the result on my Sony. But the next tape I recorded only had Microsoft keep asking me to file a bug report when I tried to play it on my Sony. My Apple refused to recognize it as a DVD. Unpredictable incompatibility. When I called Samsung support they told me to call the computer manufacturer. I guess I'll have to call both Sony and Apple then? Crutchfield was the seller of this product and they actually have a very helpful support team called Darren. According to him, I should try another brand of DVD. I tried Memorex instead of Office Depot and found that disc brand solved the problem. Question for Samsung: Why isn't this on the troubleshooting page of the manual? Why does the dealer know about this and you don't?
