It's great. I bought this on impulse because I love churros and it's a joke between everyone I know that I'm obsessed with them. The churros you make don't compare to fried churros, but these are fun little things to make sure you get what you buy, right? The included recipes aren't great because I have a feeling the empanada batter calls for the wrong water to flour ratio, but you can use any recipe as long as it doesn't affect the quality of the preparation. It starts heating as soon as it is plugged in. (No power or settings buttons). 8 minutes after plugging in, a little green light will come on, indicating your food is ready (according to recipe requirements, but of course you can do whatever you like). I first used it for an hour to make empanadas and a few days later to make churros. I will say it takes a bit of trial and error to get the right amount of dough because too much oversleeps and makes clean up a chore.
