I am a little more comfortable with the variety recommended by the dishwasher manufacturer and as the smaller pouch version gets very good reviews on Revain I have opted for this larger pouch by weight 5 kg / 11 lbs because it was cheaper. The only downside I read about, aside from paying $17 for a large bag of salt, some people wanted it in a loose box instead of a bag. I've found that as long as it's not too hard for you to hold and pour, I cut a 1" edge off the corner and had no problem with the salt squirting out in a controlled manner. Update after 15 months: still very satisfied. We ran our dishwasher on a full load about a day later and still haven't had to add salt. I hope our dishwasher has some sort of notification when it's low, but I decided to check a month ago and when I removed the filler neck, there was definitely a good amount left in the reservoir so no need to refill or even refill. At this rate this bag will last us at least 5-7 years I think.
