Review on LQ Industrial Saddle Connect System by Justin Butler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very simple - spare parts for water filtration

Complexity: EASY! Also for the inexperienced. The only difficulty would be if the drain pipe didn't have a hole. However, if you have a drill and have used it, it's easy to fix/install. When the plumber originally installed my reverse osmosis cleaner, he used a copper self-tapping saddle clamp on a 1 1/2 inch diameter plastic drain. noticed it was leaking. It's not a pressure port, just a drain. So I ordered this plastic seat to swap out for a plastic drain pipe. Perfect! To install this seat (supplied with no instructions): Remove the center hole gasket and glue the gasket to the entire inside of the seat. Place the seat around the drain pipe and hand tighten the screws. If you have already drilled a hole in the drain pipe from the previous attachment, align the seat with the hole in the drain pipe. Use something sharp like a narrow straw or a skewer from a kitchen drawer. I used a carpenter's nail for the stamp. Screwdriver to tighten the seat screws. If you need dr sick in a plastic tube it's quick so be careful. Then follow the alignment procedure above. If you have copper pipe you can still drill a 1/4" hole, it's just a little slower. This saddle offers a very large seal. there is a copper saddle on it) up to the factory seal on the drain - there were no problems. I don't like quick couplers, but in this case there were no problems due to the lack of hydraulic pressure at the drain. To ensure the quick connect is secure, use a box cutter (with a fairly new blade) and make a sharp 90 degree cut across the pipe. To do this, I placed the tube on a cutting board. This will ensure the pipe is flush. on the quick coupling and guarantees a good seal. The bent end of the hose can cause leaks.

Pros
  • spare parts for water filtration
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
