Discreet small mid-range ball head, Arca-Swiss style plate.

I have used Bogen/Manfrotto heads exclusively for many years and they have their own plug-in system. Then I got some new heads with Arca Swiss inserts. To be honest I find the Arca-Swiss better than the bows - they are reversible and have a large clamping area - plus pretty much everyone but the bow uses them. This head is made entirely of aluminum and steel and includes a small spirit level. Likes: Small knobs that block disk and head rotation. They don't offer much leverage. The plate does not slide completely back and forth - e.g. B. There are 10mm markings on both sides. The plate slides only 7mm in each direction. The head looks unfinished in several places - grinding marks and a file are literally visible in some places. Finally, the thread in the base that attaches to the tripod is aluminum. What I like: The ball head clamp is reliable and durable. It's not just the contact of the screw with the insert or directly with the ball. This is a clip that grips the ball 360 degrees. The ball head clamp handle is LARGE and offers lots of leverage. The plate mount/body is well attached to the sphere. The base plate is fully rotatable and well fixed. It works with most cameras. Would I put a full size DSLR on it with a 200mm lens? no Too much weight/torque up front. What about a 50mm lens? secure. The kit also includes a 3/8-1/4" adapter and a few small plate tools.
