Review on 🚲 Ventura Economical Bolt-On Bicycle Carrier Rack: Adjustable Fit for 26"/28"/700c Bikes - Steel, Black by Aaron Schultz

no Buy another rack

We were short on time and bought this for a 60 mile tour as a lightweight front rack. Despite the bolts being as tight as possible, the strut wobbled and wobbled throughout the ride. You could feel it pressing against you as you rode, and it did so with a moderate, balanced load - maybe 10-15 pounds. Sharpen. Lost three screws along the way. Lost the first bolt in less than five miles. I think the propellers started to loosen around the second mile. At the same time, the rail once fell on the spokes. No damage, but a small heart attack while driving. I had to cut bolts from other parts of the bike to get it back. Aside from those flashy parts, the assembly was ridiculous - like an evil kit. Spend a little more money and buy a welded frame. Well worth the extra $10 or so to skip the pain and dangers of this rack, even if you're just riding it to work.
