It's solid. BUT. in luggage racks

There is a chance that you will not receive all the screws, nuts and bolts that come with them. The ones you get are of very poor quality. You won't know which screws go where. You have to guess. It's not impossible, but it can be confusing for some. If you have a friend who is good at riding a bike or has a few extra snap bolts this will help. right, IT'S STRONG AND WORKS FANTASTIC. We tested our skills over and over again. It's always with honor. If you can take it to a bike shop to have itโ€ฆ

no Buy another rack

We were short on time and bought this for a 60 mile tour as a lightweight front rack. Despite the bolts being as tight as possible, the strut wobbled and wobbled throughout the ride. You could feel it pressing against you as you rode, and it did so with a moderate, balanced load - maybe 10-15 pounds. Sharpen. Lost three screws along the way. Lost the first bolt in less than five miles. I think the propellers started to loosen around the second mile. At the same time, the rail once fell on theโ€ฆ

good value for money

This rack has been fitted to a brand new Jamis Explorer 2 bike; Step 1: Unfold all parts and brackets, keep them visible. Step 2: See how the parts fit together and where they fit on the bike, look at the diagrams. Step 3 Take a set of metric allen wrenches, a small hammer and a pair of pliers. Step 4 Remove the bike seat. Step 5. Begin the installation with the seat back, extensions, post and then the rear supports (pay attention to the corner to keep it flat). Step 6 Keep track of how manyโ€ฆ

Great luggage rack for the price

Bought this for my Peugeot touring bike although it's certainly not the easiest setup I've ever done, it's not very difficult either, it works well and is solid ( my 13 year old was rolling around in the yard and my 12 year old was sitting on the rack). Other reviews have cited misaligned mounting points and crappy hardware, both of which applied to mine, although I still had plans to replace the hardware with stainless steel since my bike was built for rain (btw, even racks that cost $100+)โ€ฆ

Absolute junk for bike racks and bags

Whoever built it and whoever QA checked (or forgot) fires both. Sure it's $12, but I'd be hard pressed to find worse craftsmanship. The photos say it all. The levers were so off-center and the spot welds were so off-center, the stance on my bike was so askew (I checked it out). So I broke my arm and bent it to match the other. I then used the Allen screws that came with it. *BIG MISTAKE* All heads fall off in the last round. I would have stopped after the first screw, but my bike was only $200โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Dubious purchase for old folks

Good if you have a grinder and extra screws

I can confirm what some other reviewers have said, this isn't all the hardware to install it. It took me a decent amount of work to install it on my Huffy bike. Here are the changes I had to make. The bracket on the crossbar had to be drilled in a larger hole as the normal screw didn't fit through. I ended up removing 2 of the 3 screws I had. The hex screw heads are very weak, I do not recommend using them. All hex screws replaced as I shorted out 3 of them anyway. So the size fits. The pillarโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Concise instructions

I'm getting a new bike, I'm very happy. So I was so excited that I started buying accessories. Oooh! Well after receiving the rack I started to open it up and see all the 'missing' brackets. But the description says they don't have clamps. Should I be angry that I didn't read carefully in my excitement? No, I don't have to, I'm of legal age. Double idiot, the bike doesn't have a luggage rack. ha ha ha I need to go to home depot and get some clips to attach it and design some rack clips. No, Iโ€ฆ

Versatile and durable rack

I had an incredible time finding a front rack for my MTB Giant Yukon and I replaced the stock front fork with a one-piece IRD 29er to keep the suspension fork geometry and I rotated the um rack and installed it in 2010 and it worked. I think the advantages of this rack are its simplicity and wide mounting options, and in a non-standard mounting situation, it is an inexpensive rack that you can modify if necessary. Yes, it's steel and weighs more than aluminum, but it's strong and all the boltsโ€ฆ
