The pull tab and screwdrivers worked great but the cable didn't work

The pull tab and screwdrivers worked great but the cable didn't work. When installed, the home button does not work and does not charge. I reinstalled the old cable and the home button works and charges. It loads very slowly so I replaced it. 2 stars given for tool, defective cable.
