I am using this yarn to make DIY weed killer bags for my garden. He is very fat. If your sewing machine is self-priming, don't use it. Instead, thread the machine needle like you would a hand sewing needle. It's a very thick thread and has held up well so far. My growbags are outside 24/7 and exposed to rain, wind, moisture, heat, etc.
