Review on 💽 Maxtor R01J080 External USB 2.0 80GB Hard Drive with 7200 RPM Speed and 2MB Cache by Jack Collins

I bought this hard drive to back up my laptop as I plan to use the software that came with it as a tool for that. Setting up the hard drive was actually very easy, and using it is also very easy. However, the backup software is too basic for my use and I am unable to perform the task I want. The drive is very quiet and fast enough for my year-old laptop, with a USB hub in between I can still get between 40 and 80MB. /s transfer rate. Unfortunately, it took me over 4 hours to back up 8GB of personal data. And it's not just once, it has to be repeated every time I do a backup, apparently due to a mismatch between software and windows file properties. So far I haven't been able to get anything satisfactory. I think with more time and less data you can develop something reasonable, but if you're busy during the day and don't want to bother with time-consuming activities, you're better off choosing backup software that saves transmission time, or go to firewire.
