I bought this mount to complete a regular Tacoma mod called the "Ram Mount A-Piller Phone Holder" and I pretty much love it everything about that little 1" ball mount. Keyword almost! Some people have complained that the standard mount puts the phone too close to the steering wheel. Given that this version has a hinge, I thought it was a better one adjustable option than the Ram branded plastic version, and I was right Pros: - All metal construction is reasonably stiff, doesn't wobble at high speed or over rough terrain and should definitely stand the test of time without fading after years in the sun to worry about brittle plastic, it has the ability to rotate in the middle, literally giving you 2x more power to your device position than a standard RAM bracket of the same size. (This is the main reason I chose this design) - The tension knobs are very stiff and do a great job of locking the rotating ball mount in its intended place. Cons (if you can call it that) - The cups that grip the 1" uniball are pretty solid, which is great, but they probably have a little more coverage than necessary, which limits the maximum angle you can use this at Swivel can adjust during installation. It's such a small issue that it almost doesn't matter. , but if you're installing in a hard-to-reach area it may help to grind/sand down a small portion of the edge to allow for a few extra degrees of customization. Again, so minor that it doesn't even affect most people. If you're on a fence at all, this is the best option for a mount of this size and style.
