I took my phone on vacation and only had a charging cable with me - I usually rely on wireless charging pads but didn't take it with me. The cable didn't hold up and I had to hold the Lightning connector at a certain angle for many minutes to get my phone on a reasonable charge for the day ahead. I often have my phone in my pocket and what happens is pocket lint gets caught in the lightning connector. , causing problems with the retaining springs and metal contacts required for charging. This kit was recommended in a browser ad after I googled how to use it. I ordered it and it arrived in a few days. After a quick look at the instructions, I started using the tools provided as described. It was interesting to watch how each tool removed different sizes of dust or lint. I also applied some of the included cleaning fluid to the appropriate tool and cleaned the metal contacts. There was also a brush to clean the outside of the phone, around the buttons and especially the speaker grills below - it was amazing how clogged they got with dirt and dust. After I finished cleaning (about 10 minutes) I tried two connectors that didn't work before and they clicked just like they would on a new phone. Wired charging is back and I have this tool to thank! I definitely recommend it if you can't get a hold of the cable anymore - the two springs inside are probably full of dust and this tool includes a special hook that pulls something like that out.
