I like these ladders. They are way better than the last ones I bought. Firstly, the instructions are really TERRIBLE. That's my only criticism. They need to be rewritten! Just as bad as if they numbered all the parts and then assembled them. I found them obscure and I'm no fool when it comes to montage. Luckily, if you don't pay attention to what they're saying and look at the pictures, they're pretty intuitive. If the pieces are difficult to glue together, it's a good idea to add some washing-up liquid to the small pieces - they slide right in (and smell great!). I have terrible arthritis and have had no problems. I laid the left side with all that on its side, lined up the holes and leaned on it. When assembled, it is NOT unstable. If you have this, you've missed something or you have a really heavy dog. I like carpet steps - no skid feet. It also doesn't move on my hardwood floor. My 17 lb mini poodle found the steps deep and wide enough to be comfortable - we bought a bigger one because my bed is 31 inches. I would recommend this product and think it is good value for the money I paid for it.
