Review on Canon Rebel Camera 18 55Mm 4 5 6 by Agata Zubrzycka ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I definitely do not advise buying, the product disappointed.

The native lens, like all "whales", is rather dark and is only suitable for shooting video. When working with non-native lenses, phase autofocus very often makes a big mistake, for 5 - 6 defective shots, there is 1 normal one. Tested with Canon EF-S 55-250 1:4-5.6 IS II, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 (IF) A16 lenses. I have very big doubts about the resolution of the matrix. Canon claims 24.1 megapixels, I compared it in action with my old Canon EOS 1100D (18 megapixels). So, the EOS 250D shoots much worse than the EOS 1100D. Even with manual focusing, when the focus is perfect, you will not get ringing sharpness, the picture is a little "soapy". The color rendition of the new model is much better, the working ISO is much higher, but megapixels do not bring joy. As if they were obtained as a result of interpolation from a lower resolution image. Summing up, I want to say that as a camcorder the EOS250D is very good, I liked it, but as a camera it disappointed me. In terms of resolution, the old EOS1100D is better.

Pros
  • Very good video recording. In video mode, very tenacious and fast autofocus. Silent operation of the native lens (it is inaudible how it focuses). ISO working up to 1600 (when shooting through the viewfinder)
Cons
  • When shooting movies or taking pictures in LiveView mode, dark objects in the image begin to "noise" even at low ISO values. Very unstable autofocus when aiming at the center point, often misses. What is interesting is more often focused behind the subject, front-focus also happens, but much less often.
