My son has ASD and has difficulty brushing his teeth. With this toothbrush, thanks to its design, I can reduce the cleaning time. The bristles are not very hard. I would say rather average. My son is 5 years old and this is perfect for him. What I'm saying is that after a few months, maybe 8 or 10, the bristles don't fall out, but instead of staying together as they appear, they begin to separate because they are made of three parts. This is what you might think of when you put three fingers together to make a W. So does a toothbrush over time. That makes sense because my son bites the toothbrush the second time around and the material of the toothbrush if it's not 100% hard I'd say 95% hard and 5% soft so there's a little pop when it's the has meaning. I have bought this toothbrush and many different colors and every time my son loves them. This is a very good toothbrush.
