I'm just not ready to give up my 99 Suburban. 280,000 km driven and so on. I decided to replace the fuel pump as it was noisy and the fuel gauge started giving me a terrible rebound. It had over 100,000 miles on it and I wanted to change it on my own terms, not after it broke down on the side of the road. It was a direct fit, no installation issues. I would recommend getting snap ring pliers and a fuel line disconnect tool if you don't already have one. I just changed the fuel pump relay, mileage 300,000. This is cheap insurance in case everything breaks down soon. The new pump is now much quieter with no issues. 2k km so far. Spend the extra money and buy this to replace your broken or faulty pump.
