1. is a generic non-branded remote, not Westinghouse as stated in the description. (unless it's the same remote that was made for the Westinghouse brand, I don't know) 2nd - It doesn't come with any documentation except on the back of the receiver. But if you plugged in the remote before plugging it in, installation is still easy. 3. - The kit does not include screws for fixing the wall bracket to the wall and connectors for cables. 4. - When you turn on the wall switch to power it, the light will turn on. This means that if there is a power outage, the light will stay on until we turn it off. BUT - It works with LED bulbs located in the fan and seems to work fine. I also like the beeps you hear when you change settings or turn on a light or fan. I just installed it 30 minutes ago so we'll see if it's still working in 6 months or a year. Bought 2 different brand remotes. One of them is still working since September 2015 and the other died after 3 months of use. This time I went very cheaply to see what would happen.
