The remote got very hot when I put batteries in. It's so hot the batteries started to chip. I'm glad I randomly picked it up so I noticed before any damage was done. I also installed the control module and it didn't work. I bought it because it was so cheap. Spring.

For the price (we bought 2) these are decent remotes that do the job. They come with a timer. So if you are forgetful, this will solve the problem. Just remember that they have to be manually programmed for each fan and not set by internal switches. It's relatively easy, but we had to google how to do it. Otherwise we have no complaints.

I've evaluated your money a second time so you get what you pay for. Thought it was too good to be true! The fan works, the light works, but there is no speed adjustment, only one speed for high, medium and low! Therefore, turning the fan around and setting it on a low temperature during the winter months is not an option. It's summer now and I'll keep it that way, but later this season it will get a new control module. Smh on the false advertising this brand has done!

The installation of both fans went smoothly. Turn on the fan light and set the fan to high speed, then this remote control can control the light and fan speed. The remote is RF so line of sight is not required and both of my remotes are for separate switches so they don't get in the way and control a different fan.
