I started using these with the Gateway around our house to keep track of things when I'm not home. Then I bought an RV temperature control kit away from it since we have a pet inside. Very easy to set up and the gateway even works with the usually poor RV park WiFi. Now that the sensors are waterproof, they're also a great way to monitor the outside temperature, which is handy for a cold-weather camper. Heat pumps are quite inefficient as the temperature drops to near freezing which means a switch to propane heating. For example, to minimize the use of propane gas, because when a bottle needs to be refilled, it takes a very long time to unhook it, fill it up and then put it back up. Also, like the fact, the temperature history is available. I have used for two things. One of these is how often the air conditioning is turned on and off on warm days when you are outside the RV. Second, I can see how much it has actually dropped the next morning when the overnight low is expected to be close to zero. It's handy to know if I left the water plugged in.
