Just installed two of these. High quality kits. We were concerned about some complaints of the lids being difficult to close once opened and the lids not fitting flush. But I had no problems. What I suspect in these cases is that the recesses that the installer has to cut in the floor weren't deep enough. Comes with a template indicating the required depth. Too shallow a groove will cause the outlet to protrude too far from the box and prevent the outlet covers from closing completely. When installed, the top of the cover is approximately 0.25 inches from the bottom. I've considered flush mounting this one (i.e. countersinking the lid) but the edges are beveled. I figured it's best not to bother with dust/dirt build-up around the rim and I can live with a slightly raised lid. Two minor complaints: 1) If u have a plug that is larger than the size of a standard outlet, you will need an adapter (or an extension cord) to use these outlets. The depth of the socket combined with the very hard brass/stainless steel finish means larger plugs will not work. Take a look at the stock photos to see what I mean. 2) As others have pointed out, the outlet for the top greener seems like an afterthought. The outlets do not match the lid mounts so some modifications are needed.
