I bought these headphones years ago and after frequent use, pulling and pulling the cable hard, I became unusable on one side. But I just went ahead and bought the same type as a replacement. They're so cheap that replacing them after almost a year of heavy use isn't too bad. The sound quality is pretty good for a cheap pair of headphones, and they pack away easily so the cable doesn't get in the way during a workout. Having owned and broken many headphones that often broke when the cord got tangled on something (like a doorknob) and pulled out, the retractable feature was the most important thing for me. Plus, with $7 headphones, you don't have to worry if you lose them or drop them in the sink. Before ordering the same brand from ReTrak again, I looked at other brands of retractable headphones and saw the same complaints about durability and sound quality. ReTrak is the cheapest which is why I chose it. After all, they come in different colors. I'm getting a colorful pair this time, so there's less chance of having to search for them in my black bag!
