UPDATE: STILL WORTH IT! I bought these in January, it's now September and I've just started using the 3rd of 10. I use them every day and although they stretch they are great value for money! One I over pulled and the rubber band broke, the second I used for a few months and finally decided to throw it away and pull out another one to use. I will try to wash and dry them (this may help shrink the gum back but make it brittle) but I think using only two for 8 months speaks volumes about the quality of the product. I try to style my hair every time. in the morning, but inevitably mid-morning or noon, I need it out of my face and it ends up in my mother's dirty bun. Also, I like to "pineapple" my curls at night so they don't get on my face while I sleep and save some of the curls so it's easier the next morning. For darker hair, these satin hair ties are perfect as they blend in (I don't want to make a fashion statement) and the fabric doesn't wick moisture from my hair like cotton does. I was worried they might lose their stretch like other reviews said but I've been using them for about 2 weeks with no sign of a change. For the price, even if I have to buy more in 6 months or a year, it will still be worth it!
