What a fantastic tool. There are ball bearings on both ends of the friction surfaces of the tool that the nut passes. So when you tighten them, all the force is put on the ball joint being removed instead of being lost to friction in the tool. These tools are worth the extra cost compared to the $50 set. Forget trying to use pipes and parts from the hardware store, this tool makes removing parts easy. He pulls out the ball joint in 30 seconds.
