Bought for my Samsung Galaxy S9 which has a branded waterproof case. It barely stretches to fit my phone but fits and fits well. It's strong enough to hold my phone without dropping the tripod or dropping the phone. It has 2 screw holes so you can mount it vertically or horizontally and even that is redundant as the mount itself can be loosened with a thumbscrew on the back and rotated 360 degrees. I've been strongly opposed to using a phone as a digital camera for years, mostly because of the mount, but this little mount has changed very quickly! I highly recommend this if you already have a tripod and are looking for a part to mount your phone on.
