as almost everyone has mentioned; the ventilation openings in these runners are blocked and made of insulating plastic; so there will not be a large heat dissipation factor. Interestingly, they made the radiator fins but closed them on the internal cavity. However, keep in mind that SSDs don't actually generate much heat. So as long as you don't use them on low airflow settings, you're fine. I bought two of these (for the price), one for MacPro and one for Windows PC. I had no problem with the screw holes; The bottom mounting holes worked well with a MacPro drive sled using Apple screws and the other worked well with standard hard drive screws in a Windows computer. As advice; Check if your SSD is at an angle to the SATA connector. I found my Kingston drive to be a bit narrow and therefore at an angle to the internal SATA connector. I folded the note and taped it under the opposite page and it lay flat.
