Heats up very quickly!
This glue pot heats up very quickly! I had to turn the temperature dial almost to the minimum or the glue would start smoking. This is a large saucepan, about 4 1/4" inside diameter. The bottom doesn't get very hot, so you can place it on almost any surface. The top rim gets very hot. I'll get a lid at a local thrift store (preferably glass) to store it closed when I turn it on, turn it off and unplug it for small things, don't buy it, take a smaller one.
