These hooks are stronger than they look. However, the part that fits the headrest is very flexible even when the headrest is fully down. Can't confirm how they handle heavier weights as we only use them to hang baseball caps. We traded our SUV for a hatchback and had to get creative with limited space as our vehicle is my husband's "golf cabinet". The perfect solution!
