Very strong shelf. Designed to work in most racks that use a standard square pin latch with a round hole. I bought this to use as the top rack in my Startech 25 U expandable rack system. I tried using some cantilevered shelves in the front and back but found that even though the shelves were rated at 50 pounds, the concentrated weight of my devices is The NAS was too big for console shelves. My primary NAS is a Netgear ReadyNAS 314 containing 4 x 3GB WD Red drives connected to 4 external expansions containing 4 x 2GB WD Red drives and a Synology containing 2 x 2TB Red drives . This disc set has a significant amount of very targeted weight. This shelf holds everything, plus AOC's traditional and typically floor-mounted 1000Ah UPS. I was thinking of replacing this unit with a rack unit, but this shelf made it unnecessary.
