The wires appear to be the same gauge as the ones I replaced on my Kenmore Elite dryer. Make sure the dryer is unplugged from the power supply before using it. When removing the old one, remove the front glass in front of the metal case, mark the wires before disconnecting, and take photos with your phone. It's almost impossible to get to all the metal case screws around the coil, but the good news is that the metal case comes off easily. There is a clip on the back of the dryer that holds the metal body (see image). Simply lift the front of the case and then lower it to release the clip tab from the back of the metal case. While you're making this repair, vacuum the inside of the dryer. I was shocked at how much lint had accumulated in the dryer over the years. Also, tilt the dryer back and tuck a thin piece of wood under the front legs to make it easier for you to use a 1/4-inch socket wrench or screwdriver to remove the front metal portion of the dryer to access that area under the dryer door. . It's only about 4 screws. Before ordering a heating element it is important to first remove the old coil so that the metal frame holding the coil matches the illustration of the part you have ordered. This makes the replacement easier as otherwise you will have to remove the old coil and ceramic posts to fit the existing frame. If you have an ohmmeter, check the old heating element to see if it reads an open circuit; it should measure a low resistance. It took me about 25 minutes to remove the old part from start to finish including wire marking, vacuum etc. Then it took me about 20 minutes to install the new part. I'm not a home appliance specialist, but I can. This is an easy way to save some money with minimal effort. The overheat sensor etc that came with this item didn't exactly match mine but I bought it for the heating element. Much luck!
