I bought this refurbished from Revain. It came with a white box that appeared to come straight from Garmin. The watch looks and feels brand new, can't tell if it has ever been used or worn. I don't care as it works great in every way. I wasn't expecting this watch to do so much and do my exercises so well, but my goodness, this watch exceeded my expectations except for a few minor things. What I like: Downloadable apps, fast scrolling, compatibility with other Garmin devices, namely the Edge bike computer and heart rate monitor; No need to wear a heart rate monitor, multiple alarms, easy Bluetooth pairing. Things to improve: The screen is a bit dim but very sharp and bright when viewed in bright sunlight. I have to use the LED light all the time, but it can be adjusted with body movements (wrist). Not a deal maker at all. Also, the WiFi connection never works. No matter how much I set up in the Garmin Connect desktop app, it just won't connect. Those are the two main reasons I deducted a star. Conclusion: minor issues, but definitely not critical. I've had Polar, Suunto and now Garmin smartwatches and they are the best I've seen. The Fenix 5 isn't much different from the 3, so if you're looking to save a few hundred bucks, get the Fenix 3. You will not regret it.
