I am very happy with this product. Initially I wanted to go the easy route with an external model, but then I realized that I don't like a very expensive product that is easily available for others who might want to steal it. I own a camper trailer and after using it for a few years you will realize how valuable it is not having to store and retrieve another piece of camping gear, especially if you have kids! Installation was easy and there are multiple ways to install based on your trailer and shore power configuration. You can technically place it anywhere on the line in front of the trailer's fuse box. My shore power is in the rear so I installed it in an unused space in a closet where shore power already enters the trailer. I also have a back door in this location that allows me to plug it in and read easily if there is a power issue. If you don't want to be a numbers freak, do yourself a favor and mount the display somewhere that has no line of sight in your living space. In my opinion, this is a plugin, confirm the good performance and forget about the concept. Enjoy the camping and don't worry about the crowd. This device protects your installation! That brings me to productivity. I installed this device earlier this season; around May 2015. So far we have done 5 trips and about 20 nights camping. This device worked perfectly, and as it claims. The first few rides I hooked up had no bugs and solid power, we had great camping. The last few trips have resulted in a hot summer and more AC usage on most TTs, 5ths and MHs. I've had a few instances where the device cut off power due to under voltage. This is very important because low voltage can seriously damage your AC appliance, fridge, microwave, etc. Also, this past weekend I hooked up several power poles and the device errors showed "Open Ground". Make sure your AC unit is not suitable and has delay protection. If the contacts are not removed from this device, it will take approximately 240 seconds to turn back on. Important for the air conditioning compressor. All this is described in the installation instructions. Buy this device, protect your investment and enjoy your family, your RV and the great outdoors! Last advice. Buy a power line monitor that will allow you to quickly connect to a pole and determine if there are any open ground, polarity, voltage, or other issues. The outdoor issues I mentioned, I was only able to discover after picking the perfect spot for our family, retreating to an extremely difficult spot and relocating it right between these trees to match our slide, only to find that the forces were not there. I want to buy it here at Revain for about $30. That way I can jump out of the truck and quickly check power before doing anything else. It's a tremendous time saver, relieves stress, and has been free marriage counseling for those who know what I'm talking about.
