Bought fryer from Revain that uses 1 gallon of oil. Also bought a 1 gallon jar with lid (thick jar). A little more than an ordinary funnel was needed. Bought because of the shape, size and built in filtration (non-removable. Also comes with cheesecloth, have not used cloth yet. Perfect for intended use. Place a 1 gallon glass in mouth, slowly pour in warm used cooking oil) from the fryer. Filters out pieces etc. I always stop before pouring the last piece from the skillet into the funnel. I stop when I start seeing little bits. Without using gauze, I only get a very small amount of fine particles at the bottom of the storage jar. never mind When reusing oil, I stop pouring oil into the fryer when I reach sediment at the bottom of the vessel. Then I dry it with paper towels. Works great and easy. Reused the same fryer oil. 7 times, still clean, no foam when boiling. I keep the oil in the original packaging for disposal when it comes time to change the oil. This funnel is perfect for what I need it for! I just ordered 2 more. 1 when I make chicken broth from real cooked chicken. I will also use cheesecloth for this. The 2nd comes in a storage box. Funny, at $10 each I paid $20 + tax for 2 funnels. However, 2 packs are $27+tax, but still doesn't make sense. This is a great funnel that is the perfect size for the kitchen. Well made stainless steel and easy to clean. I spray it with vinegar and water 50/50 from a spray bottle and let it sit for a few minutes. Then hand wash with Dawn, comes out perfectly clean, no traces of oil.
