Review on APPS2Car Windshield Telescopic Replacement StreetPilot by Brandon Plowden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

GPS dash mount, excellent mount NOT WITH ONE HAND.

GPS Dashboard Mount APPS2Car Dashboard Mount Windshield Sticky Suction Cup Mount was/is for my Garmin Drive Smart 55 GPS that just replaced an old tomtom unit. I needed a mount for a lower position on the windshield or dash so I wouldn't be shot at by something like an air freshener blocking my view. I liked the ability to mount it low and closer to the dash, and the hinge and extension gives it just the right angle to use. Keep in mind that this is not a one-handed detachable item. When they advertise the "Sticky" teat, they don't mean the teat itself, but the attachment BEFORE the teat. The downside of most suction cups is the temperature change, especially when it gets really cold. This little guy pulls the ball mount off the back of your Drive Smart before jumping out the window with the suction cup removed. I would just remove my old mount entirely and put it out of sight when parked. With this I remove the GPS from the mount by holding the mount with one hand and holding the GPS jack with the other while I pull the GPS open. Then I loosen the rod, remove the ball mount and rotate it down so I can use the windshield blinds. On my last trip home I figured I'd put it all away and keep it along with my GPS, HA. The suction device has a vacuum release valve and even a tab on the soft, sticky part. Nothing is 'released', you have to use both hands to escape the device stuck to the windshield and learn most of the vocabulary from 4 years of marine, you tug and swear, and eventually when the planets and moon are properly aligned, it will released. I'm not kidding, never put this sticky product on any part of your body for fun. This way you expect to be called 911. Just keep the bag it came in and put it back. I like the attachment, I'm careful with a sticky pad but I'll leave it that way in case I have to go to Alaska in the winter, I know it won't fall off.
