It works but it's basicly two tubes connected by end electronics. There is no protective sheath around the lights. I would use it only in area where it's unlikely to be hit. The attaching hardware is flimsy also. I tried to mount ti to dry wall but the clips are flimsy and I didn't feel it was stable. I ended using the chain to hang from my garage door tracks which have convenient bolt holes. It's really hard to differentiate these lights from rivals but I would pay extra for a better build.also if you have a garage with high ceilings, the switch is built into the cord which means it could be out of reach esp if you hang it high. A pull chain siwitch would have been preferred for garage usage since you can easily attach a longer string .
