If your factory tail/brake lights originally used white LED bulbs, these can be replaced. But if they used white incandescent bulbs (or even red LEDs), I would NOT recommend them. Because incandescent bulbs and LEDs produce different spectra (i.e. not all "whiteโ light is the same), standard lenses with a different type of bulb may not produce the desired color, i.e. a red filter does not guarantee red light. Case in point: I tried them on my 1994 Jeep XJ and the taillights turned orange! This was very clear when compared to markers (red LED, red lens), signals (amber LED, amber lens) and backups (white LED, white lens). Amber tail/brake lights can not only be illegal but also dangerous - I don't want the drivers behind me to question me when I hit the brakes. In addition, compared to the signal and reversing lamps (lamps with lenses attached), these lamps were not very bright, especially in daylight. So I send them back and buy red LED tail/brake lights with LENSES.
