I purchased this to compress my pistons on my Brembo brakes after reinstalling my caliper to replace a wheel stud and found the working ones Calipers had to be removed to compress the rotor pistons. It worked great for compressing pistons, although the ratchet system seemed a little flimsy and cheap, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're just changing the pads on your service brakes, there really isn't a tool that has that style. .
