I have a 2008 Mercury Sable that needs a compression tool for the right and left pistons. Many cars only need a tool and can "rent" the tool at any auto parts store, but I couldn't do that. The box arrived in perfect condition and looked like it was ready to go. Unfortunately, there is no manual that tells you how to use it. Eventually, after some trial and error, I figured it out, and in less than ten seconds I had the plunger squeezed and ready to put everything back together. There is a picture and description to tell you which adapter to use with your car style. , but I thought that was wrong. Mine said to use #12 or "M" but it turned out to be too small. I think I used #6 or #7 to complete the job. Simply slide the large adapter plate over the screw handle and make sure it seats against the inside edge of the caliper so that when you turn the handle it pushes back and the tool can do its job. I'm sure a lot of people understood that. right away but I didn't and my 3 year old learned some new colorful words to share with his preschooler.
