2 "left " and too soft

My kit includes 2 "left" presses. The "left" worked fine, but the steel used for the handle, the part you twist against, is too soft and only bends with the power of my hand - that's because I'm using it had to work to do the work of "law". "press. I made a simple mistake packing parts, but I didn't start my brakes until it was too long after purchase to return the kit or ask for a replacement. If I didn't get the part with a rotation of the wrist, I would have appreciated it better.

This tool is designed for rear disc brakes.

This tool is for rear disc brakes where the parking brake mechanism is located in the caliper. You can't just push the plunger back in, it also has to be rotated. I've found this to work very well. It has more piston adapters as well as a narrower compression nut for newer smaller calipers than my previous tool from over 20 years ago, as well as a left hand thread for the left rear caliper on a number of mid 2000's Fords. models. The sliding T-handle does not require an additional wrench to…

Works like a charm - calipers and parts

I bought this kit for my 2008 Jaguar XK as the dealer charged over $300 to install new rear brake pads. I bought the pads for $45 and this kit for $37 and replaced the pads in about 20 minutes per side + time to bleed each caliper. The #4 disc matched the calipers perfectly and slightly compressed the pistons. The one stop bolt kit was $35 and this kit was $37 so I went with this one instead. There are a few brands that require a reverse-threaded push-bolt (Ford, Volkswagen, and a few others I…

Perfect Rear Brake Piston Compression Tool

I found out about this tool from North American Motoring when it came time to replace the rear brakes on my 2004 Mini Cooper S. The front brake was pretty easy to change, but I've heard that the piston on the rear caliper can't be compressed without such a tool. I figured it was still cheaper than paying a mechanic so it was worth it in the short and long term. I bought this tool because I figured each side of the car would need a separate winding direction. I've found that I only need to use…

Brake Tool: Calipers without pads

I have a 2008 Mercury Sable that needs a compression tool for the right and left pistons. Many cars only need a tool and can "rent" the tool at any auto parts store, but I couldn't do that. The box arrived in perfect condition and looked like it was ready to go. Unfortunately, there is no manual that tells you how to use it. Eventually, after some trial and error, I figured it out, and in less than ten seconds I had the plunger squeezed and ready to put everything back together. There is a…

A good useful tool for a homemade mechanic

I bought this tool kit to roll some front calipers (which are not keyed). The tool is easy to use and beats using a block of wood and a clamp. Two plungers are stamped "L" and "R" so you know which one to use for button actuation. The screws move easily so they are very easy to turn. Remember to check the brake fluid level before entering a corner. I didn't (got too carried away with this tool) and ended up flooding my entire shop with brake fluid. I have not used this item for my rear brake…

Full Parts Kit

I have a 2009 Honda Accord. In my case I only used a right hand stud assembly and base plate. I did not use the various adapters that came with the kit. I used this tool to retract (retract) the rear caliper piston. For my Honda's front brake, I use a simple C-clamp to retract the caliper and it works better for me. I only needed this tool for the rear brake. Note that the rear disc brake caliper is more complex and requires this type of special tool due to the emergency braking system. You…

Never used but looks real

Rated 5 because I have not used this product yet but for half the price of other products it looks good quality. This review is mainly a first impression review as this kit does not work on my BMW E90 but I bought it to keep in my garage in case I need to replace my parents brakes or if I buy a car in the future, his needs. .Some impressions from previous reviews: junk suitcase, broken/rusted parts, no instructions and the appearance of the suitcase does not match the photos. That's because you
