Review on Astro 78618 Brake Caliper Tool by Wayne Moody

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Never used but looks real

Rated 5 because I have not used this product yet but for half the price of other products it looks good quality. This review is mainly a first impression review as this kit does not work on my BMW E90 but I bought it to keep in my garage in case I need to replace my parents brakes or if I buy a car in the future, his needs. .Some impressions from previous reviews: junk suitcase, broken/rusted parts, no instructions and the appearance of the suitcase does not match the photos. That's because you need a strong, sturdy body. What matters is what's in the suitcase. The case I received holds the pieces securely and they don't dangle or move. It basically does its job and stays closed. DETAILS - The parts I received were oil coated and therefore not rusted. They weren't broken either. Although I suspect broken parts are probably a common problem and the documentation in the kit says to contact the manufacturer direct and they will replace them within a year. If I had to be anal I would say that 2 of the 3 adapters were 95% perfect because one of the 2 small cylinders sticking out of the adapters could be hammered a millimeter more to be flush with the back. But it's anal and they'll do their job the way it is. INSTRUCTIONS - None. But they have a list of which adapter fits which car. If you need instruction, don't change your brakes, let your 5-year-old do it. Unless you have a 5 year old I think you are screwed and need an independent store. BODY DIAGRAM - It is slightly different and there are 5 adapters on the body cover. NO MATTER! :) For the $37 I spent on this kit I am very happy with it and look forward to using it. If I ever use it, I'll write an additional review.
