My fruit slicing guide is very well made and easy to clean, but it causes some problems to use, at least for apples. I had to be careful not to push the guide all the way through the apple, there was no room to insert the knife if it was inserted too far. The teeth on the guide tended to come out of the apple and make uneven cuts. Since I was hoping to core the apple and then slice it to use in the dryer, even the cuts matter. Also, on the last few cuts, the apple wanted to roll back, the guide wasn't holding it, making the cutting unsafe. But the cut on my little finger didn't need stitches. I cut the apple in half and attached the cut side to a cutting board for stability. The apple was still well dried, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. I was able to cut apple slices so well without instructions. It was a bit uncomfortable.
