We have to go through my shop (which is well lit) to get to the garage below so I bought it to put in to fit the middle passage area so we don't have to turn on the lights in the store just to get through. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a spot on the ceiling or wall that could "see" both doors and work the way I wanted (ie you have to walk a few steps into a dark store before the light comes on). The obvious decision, of course, is to buy a second flashlight, which I will most likely do if I can't think of a better idea. It's only 650 lumens and the lens filters and diffuses the light, but just enough for my intended purpose (to keep us from bumping into the vending machine as we walk by). What I hadn't thought of before: This light serves its purpose whether the main lighting is on or off. Since it's a 9.5w LED it doesn't matter, and since it's not very bright I rarely see it toggle while walking around a store, but I still think I've got an intermediate relay could add to unplug this light when the light is on in store.
