Working but not optimal

This machine is okay, just okay. Pros: Works great, cooks corn as promised, extremely compact (nice low profile plastic lid), easy to use. Hot air enters the flaking chamber from the side, causing the corn to rotate in a circular motion. My old Cuisinart vented air at the bottom so the corn bubbled up from the bottom causing more unroasted kernels to fall out. This popper has a minimal amount of wasted grains. I have to say that my family cooks corn almost every day - it's my kids' favorite snack. We've had a Cuisinart Air Popper for years and one of my kids dropped it and broke off the black piece that connects to the popper where the popcorn spilled out. So he shot popcorn all over the room lol. I chose this popper because it was cheaper but seemed to work just as well. How complex can an air popper be? Now for the cons. Sounds like an airplane taking off. Popcorn is smaller - more like a ball than a fully exploded kernel - so it's easier to chew and not as fluffy or flavorful. This popper doesn't seem to get as hot, which I think will produce a smaller popcorn. And it's hard to explain, but the taste of popcorn is different from Cuisinart popcorn and I use the same kernels. They taste a little almost plastic. It doesn't make sense because it pops out like any other popper in a metal chamber. But popcorn isn't as tasty as it is from an old popper. Everyone in my family noticed the weird new flavor and liked the old popper better. Sooner or later I'll buy another popper, Cuisinart. If you liked my review, be sure to let me know! Thank you and happy shopping!
