ZenWifi AC has definitely improved my WiFi coverage and reliability. Due to the layout of my house, my old traditional router had to be hidden in a closet next to the hub that routed the ethernet connection to outlets in different rooms. This positioning greatly impacted the range and speed of the 5 GHz band. The old router also had to be reset several times a week, sometimes even multiple times in the same day. With the ZenWifi mesh system, I placed a second node in the living room. Range is no longer an issue and I typically get around 80-90% of the available bandwidth with wireless backhaul. That's enough for me not to use wired backhaul, but it's still a welcome feature just in case. Using the application to view traffic between nodes showed that switching between nodes typically takes a minute or two. The coverage between both nodes is good enough that there is no real performance hit. Setting it up with the app was very easy. The hardest and longest part of the process was choosing a new network name and password. I appreciate this design which eliminates ugly antennas protruding everywhere and also takes up little space. It's as tall and thick as the Google Home, but slightly wider (see photos). Overall I am very satisfied with the product.
