As another reviewer said, almost perfect

This is my third KVM and I won't be buying it again! The first was a single monitor with two KVM PCs that stopped working when I switched from HDMI to a mini DP card on my desktop, even though the laptop was connected to a powered dock so I thought HDMI power is provided on this docking station, but no. Replaced it with StarTech, which worked great, but to the dismay of Windows on my desktop and laptop, it turned off the monitor every time I switched. It was workable, but I started using two displays with my desktop and laptop. So enter this KVM. Could be a problem with my setup, but StarTech KVM got it right - the desktop has a mini-DP card with four outputs, and I use mini-DP-HDMI cables with it, and the laptop is connected to a docking station with two heads, one HDMI and one DVI -HDMI. The displays are all HDMI and all 1920x1080. Switching between computers is instantaneous for keyboard and mouse, but switching displays takes a few seconds. Sometimes they don't show up at all until I open the Windows graphics settings. The weird thing is that I don't even click "Detect" or "Identify" it just seems to open the graphics settings to reset the displays and then all is good! I'm currently working on this with a second wireless mouse for a quick desktop setup, when I work on a laptop and for what I do it's actually easier than switching back and forth anyway. I'd like a USB A KVM socket on the back with everything else instead of a cable on the front, and speaking of USB on the back, who uses USB B more? However, positive are the beautiful metal box, all supplied HDMI and USB cables, the LEDs with perfect brightness (not too bright and not unnecessarily dark) and the absence of the A/B switch! It works great with my Microsoft Desktop 900 wireless keyboard and mouse with no lost or repeated keystrokes.
