My last coffee maker was an expensive one https://www.amazon.com/s?k=oxo+brain+coffee+maker&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 that made delicious coffee but eventually broke. The glass tank had a crack and I never handled the coffee machine roughly. So this is the last expensive coffee maker I will buy. may be. Because this Hamilton Beach coffee maker doesn't brew like an OXO. The coffee is soft; I have to put it on the "fat" setting to get some flavor into the brew. On the plus side, Hamilton Beach is easy to program and fills both the tank and basket with ease. And although the carafe is made of glass, the coffee stays hot for a long time. The OXO had an insulated stainless steel jug that passively kept the coffee hot, but its complicated construction made it difficult to pour. I'll keep Hamilton Beach until it breaks, but I'm considering whether I should buy a more expensive model next time.
