Review on πŸ’ Enhance Performance and Comfort with Elite Hockey Achilles Heel Gel Pad by Ronnie Cole

Revainrating 3 out of 5

They're good in a pinch

I'm giving these things three stars but I want to say right away that I've just realized I've used them incorrectly. Apparently you have to put these things in the heel pocket on the bottom of my skates. I saw them on Hockey Monkey after hearing about "Bunga Pads". I wanted something that would help heal my Bauer belly (Haglund's deformity). At $9.99 I decided to give it a try. I have had these things for almost a year now and they have certainly helped. Personally, I didn't read any instructions on it (and I don't think they came with it), but I actually taped my heel and then put my socks on. above them. I think when I first got them I glued them on as I prefer not to wear socks. But it became a daunting task because I was either unwinding the tape or squeezing the lining as I put my foot in the boot. The addition of a sock helped keep the gel pad in place while I slipped my foot into the skate shoe. Needless to say, the adhesive stopped working after the first couple of times, but I found that if you use your leg to pull the heel pad just under the heel/ankle, you can still hold the gel pad in place. quickly finish the sock around them. All in all a cheap Bauer Bumps solution. Basically they are good. I squeezed almost a year out of the set using them like I used to. I hate wearing socks, but I really don't have much of a choice. I'm going to buy some of the real bunga pads now and see how they work. If they're too bulky I'll probably grab a few as they aren't too bulky and have proven to be effective. They do however take some time and that is the reason for the 3 star rating. They are effective when used incorrectly. :) At least for me.
