Bought this for my large dog because I needed to throw away a worn out bed that he loved. As soon as I put it down my two dogs checked it out. And now they both want to sleep in it. It's quite soft and feels super comfortable on her. As for cleaning my kennel, he doesn't show a lot of hair. Long hair makes vacuuming cumbersome. But I use my Dyson in quick motions so it doesn't get stuck. When it comes to washing, it says machine wash, but air dry only. I believe this is typical of most dog beds. It's not very heavy, so it'll do fine in the washing machine. In general, both I and my dogs are very satisfied.
