When you look at it, it shines very brightly

This review is for the 120 watt version. I'm giving four stars because it works exactly as described. It's a lot less than I expected, but I can't fault the company for that. The board works fine. I haven't downloaded the app, so I can't comment on that. BUT, when the brightness is adjusted to give the same amount of light as a regular 100 watt bulb, the light itself is very bright. In other words, if you accidentally look into the light, your eyes will hurt a little. I have a regular 100 watt bare bulb in a nearby fixture and I prefer this lighting because it illuminates the whole room well and I don't flinch when I look at it. This might not have been an issue if my ceiling was much higher, but it is an issue in my garage with an 8ft ceiling. If you dim the lights it's much less of a problem but then there isn't as much light as I need. The petal adjustment works well, but with my ceiling height, I had to rotate the petals straight up for maximum room brightness. When the petals are fully lowered (parallel to the ceiling), there is no risk of glare when looking at the light from across the room, and the area directly under the light is very well lit. But in this case the lighting is good only in the light, and in other places there is practically no light. Color temperature adjustment works well and the brightness and color temperature settings are saved when the light is turned off. I leave the light on, but move it to the attic, not the garage. In other words, without a shade or diffuser, I think it's better for a room for occasional use than a garage where I can spend hours working on something.
